ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS AND SMALL TALK

This course covers all the phrases needed when meeting foreigners in professional life - whether on a business trip to a foreign country or meeting foreign visitors in your own firm.

The course covers:

Meetings and greetings

Showing visitors around

Telephone English

Business and social entertaining

Presenting your company and products

Dealing with groups of visitors

Social business English

A very important part of the course is learning and practising the strategies needed for successful small talk and conversation.

The course also includes extends the knowledge of modern business vocabulary and phrases, and includes extensive pronunciation practice.

The course material consists of a file containing 12 modules and four 60 minute cassettes.

Duration of course: There are several alternatives to suit the clients needs, two of the most popular are:

70 hours over a five week period, made up of 5 weekly sessions of 6 hours each and 40 hours of supervised self-study. Each week the participants send in written homework which is corrected by the instructor and sent back. or

Four weekend sessions (Friday 18.00 - 21.00, Saturday 09.00 - 21.00) , this provides 75 contact hours and 40 hours of self-study.

Group size 8-16 persons.

Level: This course is run at two levels - Those with level 3-4, and those with level 5-6
