3.8 Exercise - Listening Comprehension - Describing a house

Estate Agent:
Well Mr Smith, I’ve got the information on the houses. There’s one in Birch Lane,
one in Pine way, that’s a lovely part of town, and there’s a very big house in
Spruce Gardens. The house in Spruce Gardens has got 5 bedrooms, but the other
houses are smaller, they’ve both got 2 bedrooms.
Customer:
What about a sauna?
Estate Agent:
I’m sorry Mr Smith but not many houses in England have a sauna,
but there is a sauna in the Birch Lane House, its only a small sauna,
but it is a sauna.
Customer:
Oh, that sounds good. What colour are the bathrooms?
Estate Agent:
Well, The Birch Lane house has got a green bathroom. The walls are light green
and the floor tiles are dark green, the wash basin and bath are also dark green..
Customer:
Are all the houses furnished?
Estate Agent:
No, I’m afraid not. The Pine Way house isn’t furnished, but the other two houses
are - In Birch Lane they’ve got rather modern furniture and in Spruce Gardens
there’s a lot of antique furniture.
Customer:
How big are the living rooms?
Estate Agent:
Well, the Spruce Gardens living room is very big. The living room in the Pine Way
house is quite big, but the living room in the house in Birch Lane is rather small,
but there’s a lovely view from the window.
Customer:
Do all the houses have a garage?
Estate Agent:
No, I’m sorry, the Birch Lane House doesn’t have a garage, but the other two have
garages, The Spruce Gardens House has an enormous garage.
